Retreat Guru is the new operator of the Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Training. This transition is part of an agreement between Synthesis Digital LLC and private investors, as the first step towards an acquisition of the Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Training. The plans to acquire Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Training do not include any plans to acquire Synthesis Digital LLC.
The Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Training contains nine core coursework modules designed to develop the foundational competencies required for professional and ethical psychedelic facilitation. Participants are assigned to small group pods of eight to ten participants under the guidance of an experienced learning facilitator, allowing for the deep self-exploration and personal reflection required to embody the education, experience, and values of a skilled and ethical psychedelic facilitator. There are 220 students enrolled in the current training.
Synthesis Digital LLC’s agreement was part of an emergency funding injection to support the continuation of the current programs while an acquisition of the Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Training is developed. The agreement does not include any change of ownership of Synthesis Digital LLC or any of its assets. As the new operators of Synthesis Digital LLC, Retreat Guru has been in close and frequent communication with the learning facilitators, program staff and students to assess their needs in order to continue the program.
- Retreat Guru began conversations with Synthesis Digital LLC on March 2nd, 2023 after learning the company was in financial distress.
- On March 3rd, 2023 Retreat Guru was introduced to investors interested in providing financing to enable Synthesis Digital LLC to continue operating its Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Training.
- On March 4th, 2023 Retreat Guru began engaging with staff and students, with the support of Synthesis Digital LLC, to assess the needs to continue the current training.
- As of March 10th Retreat Guru is in contractual conversations with about half of the team (including both staff and contractors) who were terminated on March 2nd, 2023.
Synthesis Digital LLC was founded in 2020 and is based in Ashland, OR. Synthesis Digital LLC is a separate entity -- and sister company -- to Synthesis Institute B.V., which was founded in 2018 and based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
